HST Announcement

As you may have heard, the governments of British Columbia and Ontario announced a sales tax harmonization effective July 1, 2010. As a result, Purolator customers will realize an increase in taxes charged on shipments destined to either British Columbia or Ontario due to the harmonized sales tax (HST).

For shipments to British Columbia a 12% HST will apply, while a 13% HST will apply to those destined to Ontario.

HST regulations continue to apply to shipments with destinations to New Brunswick (13%), Newfoundland & Labrador (13%) and Nova Scotia (increased to 15% as of July 1, 2010).
