More functionality and system enhancements in ESS
In our ongoing efforts to deliver superior services to our customers, beginning January 30, 2012, Purolator E-Ship® Server (ESS) will be upgraded with more functionality and system enhancements. These will provide our customers with a superior platform to help them meet their business needs more effectively.
They include:
- Proactive Notification* – When creating a shipment ESS users simply go to the “Notification” section, and choose the option to send and receive e-mail notifications that include:
- Shipment Delivery Status / Exceptions: a notification that is sent to let the user and contact(s) know that a shipment is unlikely to make its scheduled delivery time. The notification will explain the reason for the delay and what action, if any, is required to complete the delivery.
- Delivery: a notification that is sent to let the user and contact(s) know that the shipment has been successfully delivered.
- Automatic service selection (Ship Via) – ESS users can now choose the service option that makes the most sense for their business by creating their own default service preference.
- Group print queue alignment – This can now be aligned according to a customers’ business needs. Users can print labels in a specific order to match their respective packages by sorting them by Customer Code, Customer Name, Postal Code, City, Province, Cost Centre or Reference.
- Automatic Signature Required option – ESS users can now select the “Signature Required” option in one step as ESS is now able to automatically identify and show if a destination address is located in a Canadian Residential Area (as defined in the Purolator Terms and Conditions of Service). If it is, users only need to select the “Signature Required” option that becomes available to them.
- Cost Centre and Reference enhancements – Cost Centre and Reference fields are now database driven for easy access, improved accuracy and efficiency.
